Twisted Rose Farm: a Morgan horse farm and Texas Hill Country jewel of more than 240 acres near Kerrville, Texas. This stunning facility provides grassy pastures, a spring fed pond, indoor arena with viewing deck, outdoor arena with native stone amphitheater viewing, riding trails, modern & historic guest accommodations, event hall, and equine housing that any horse owner would admire. Yes, this is the sort of place that we want our horses and (wishfully) ourselves to be!

The owners, Murphy & Dianne Lents are both native Texans that have made their way back home to breathe life back into this incredible farm. Murphy grew up around horses and rode as a kid. He recently came into the show ring with real style; he showed in his first class and came out with a first place ribbon! Dianne on the other hand, is no stranger to the show ring. She spent her youth riding and showing Quarter Horses and Palomino's, but is now completely dedicated to the Morgan horse. Breaking with the tradition of a classic bay, chestnut, or black Morgan, Dianne's attraction to colorful horses has followed her into her Morgan barn. Dianne said, "I was told that my colorful Morgan horses could not win at the national level; they were wrong!" Actively showing horses on both the East & West Coast and everywhere in between, Dianne truly loves these horses and now focuses her life on them and the farm.

The Lents purchased this amazing horse farm to further their passion for the Morgan horse. They have spent months painstakingly restoring it to its original grandeur. You see, this is no ordinary farm, this once was the thriving Arabian horse farm and show place, Thistlewood. Not only did the remarkable Mr. Patrick Swayze roam these barn aisles, Thistlewood was the final home of world famous Egyptian stallion, *Sakr+++ and his friend (and trainer), Tom McNair. The Lents have taken great care in the restoration of their new home and have even retained the beautiful stained glass windows of dancing Arabian horses in the main barn to honor its history.

The memories have been cherished, but the new life that breathes in the farm is the real news. The majestic main barn is now filled with Grand National & World Champion Morgan horses and people that are passionate about them. Such fantastic breed representatives such as the phenomenal performance and breeding stallion- MLB Capo Di Capo, the breathtaking western pleasure mare-Holiday's Bonita Fe, and driving sensation-SDMF Designed Reflection to name only a few. The farm is not only home to these winning horses, but to broodmares, retirees, outside training horses, and future stars alike. They are all cared for and trained by the very capable Cathy Grimes. Cathy is a well titled professional horse trainer and judge. She is versatile and dedicated to her craft. Cathy can train and turn out a beautiful show horse, manage her staff and facility, and teach lessons to students for show or special needs. Her impressive style and professionalism completes the polished image of this Morgan horse farm.

Morgan horses have not been part of a prominent farm in Central/South Texas in many years. A true American breed, the foundation Morgan horse was born in Vermont in 1789. Historically the breed thrived as a useful work and riding horse. The modern Morgan horse is versatile in and out of the show ring. Dianne states, "They are such wonderful horses; people friendly, good work ethic, balanced, and just plain pretty. The Morgan horse is such a good minded horse that can go from the show ring to the trail and take care of you every step of the way." These breed characteristics are what Dianne and Murphy love and want others to experience for themselves.
